What happens in a random cam chat?
In a random cam chat, the next person appears through a live browser connection. We pair two available participants, so each cam shows the person taking part in the same 1v1 conversation. A wave or a greeting can help you find out whether you both feel like talking.
The pairing follows availability, without selecting a gender, country, or personality for you. Photos on this page illustrate the format rather than showing people you can choose. A connection might end after a hello or develop into an unhurried chat. There is no fixed length to aim for, and waiting times vary as participants join and leave.
Get your cam ready before matching.
- 01
Camera access
Select Start Match to open our matching page. We provide free browser access without registration or an app download. Grant camera and microphone permission when requested. Your cam needs that browser access before it can send a picture to another participant.
- 02
Your camera frame
Use the local cam preview to check your framing. Uncover the lens, position your face inside the picture, and rest the device securely. A light in front of you makes expressions easier to follow. Check the view again after moving a phone; a small change in angle can reveal more of the room.

Sound matters too
Test sound separately from the picture. Speak through the microphone you intend to use, keeping it clear of clothing and fingers. Headphones can make the chat easier to hear in a shared space. Once picture and sound are ready, give the introduction your attention.
Short cam connections, different reasons.
A quick exit can happen before either person has said much. Someone may lose their connection, step away from the screen, or decide the chat feels uncomfortable. The length of that encounter tells you little about why it ended. Treat the next introduction as a fresh exchange.
Stay when both people are responding. Use Skip when you prefer a new random connection, rather than repeatedly waiting for an exchange that has finished. A brief hello gives another person something to answer, but continuing is always a choice for both participants.
Notice your own pace too. If you keep skipping without feeling like speaking, take a break from cam chat. Return when you have the time and attention to listen to an answer.
Fix a blank cam, frozen video, or echo.
Compare your local cam preview with the call picture before changing settings. If the preview works, the camera itself may be fine. Checking one symptom at a time makes it easier to find the cause.
| What you notice | What to check |
|---|---|
| Blank cam: | Check browser permission, the lens cover, and the selected camera. Close another app that may be using the device, then try the preview again. A disconnected external webcam also needs its cable or connection checked. |
| Frozen video: | When your preview moves but the other picture stops, either participant's network may be struggling. Pause large downloads and check your connection. If the local preview also freezes, investigate the camera or browser first. |
| Echo or missing sound: | Lower loud speakers or try headphones. Check microphone permission and mute settings, then move anything covering the microphone. Video can arrive while audio fails, so verify both before beginning another chat. |
Choose what your cam reveals.
We don't record video calls or store users' personal information. Another participant could still record their screen. Decide what to show before connecting, with the understanding that leaving a cam chat cannot erase something another person has captured.
Look beyond your face in the preview. A work badge, a letter on a desk, or another screen reflected in a window can reveal details unintentionally. Turn the camera away from documents and private messages. Check whether anyone nearby is comfortable appearing in the frame or being heard.
Keep introductions at a level that suits you. A hobby or an opinion can start a conversation without an address, employer, full name, or contact details. Decline requests to show a private document or another person. Our Privacy Policy explains the platform's commitments.
18+ access and respectful cam chats.
Yeahp is available only to adults aged 18 and over (18+). Anyone under 18 is not permitted to use the service. Joining a video conversation does not mean agreeing to every request made during it. Respect what the other participant chooses to discuss or show.
Our AI system continuously monitors for spam, bots, and inappropriate behavior. Use Report to flag a problem and Block to avoid a participant. End an uncomfortable exchange whenever necessary; these measures support responsible use without guaranteeing every interaction.
Give the same consideration you expect in return. Avoid pressuring someone to change their camera angle, reveal their surroundings, or continue after declining. If they leave, allow the encounter to finish. Follow our Terms of Service throughout each chat.
